Franck Espresso Coffee
David deForrest – July 6, 2013
Ran into this wonderful coffee while traveling in Croatia. Had no idea it was a local product, but it was ubiquitous, served in every single cafe and restaurant. We kept remarking on how the coffee in Croatia was even better than that offered in Italy (where we had just come from). I assumed this was some high-end product from Vienna or whatever. But no, it’s produced in Zagreb and is of excellent quality. I have been through several kilos since returning from Croatia and this stuff is a delight to drink. I brew it in my Rocket R58 espresso machine and I get cup after cup of terrific coffee. Oddly a kilo bag does not fill my hopper as much as kilo bags from Lavazza and Segafreddo, this is noticeable and seems odd. I have no explanation: are they underweight or are the beans “heavier:”, neither seems likely but one must be the case. Anyway, this stuff is a real bargain and terrific quality. Milder than usual Italian coffees, like Viennese or French roast.
Not that bad
